San Marino 750 meters high, in the world’s oldest and smallest sovereign state, that has defended its freedom and independence for centuries, you are already in a foreign country. On Mount Titano the contours of San Marino’s three towers (“la Guaita, la Cesta und il Montale”), symbol of the Republic, can be seen jutting up above the community, with its remarkable history and philatelic and numismatic tradition that is esteemed worldwide.

San Leo In the heart of the Valmarecchia Valley, on a hill 600 meters high stands San Leo, the historical capital of the Montefeltro. In addition to its fortress, parish church and cathedral, San Leo is also famous for the mysterious and fascinating "alchemist", Count Cagliostro, who was held prisoner in the fortress, where he died in 1795.


Gradara A classica old hamlet encircled by a long wall, where the impressive and pitturesque castle, a superb example of military architecture, borders the medieval centre. The castle was built by the Malatestas between 1307 and 1325 and was later restored several times. According to the saga, it was here in Gradara, the house of the Malatestas, that the romantic tragedy of Paolo and Francesca unraveled and which was reported by Dante Aligieri: "Trembling lips kissed mine".
